In the shadow of the Preseli Hills, Pentre Ifan\u2019s Neolithic dolmen is one of the largest and best-preserved of these imposing prehistoric tombs. Topped by an enormous 5m capstone, weighing approx 16 tons and resting on three uprights, the site was among the first in Britain to be protected by law in 1882, ensuring it continues to stand sentinel over the North Pembrokeshire landscape as it has done for 5500 years.<\/p>
